At our Infectious Disease Office we also provide diagnosis and treatment of persons who suspect may have a sexually transmitted disease (STD). We provide this service in the upmost discrete and private setting. We also provide evaluation, treatment and counseling of sex partners of persons with a sexually transmitted disease.
Treatment of STDs is especially important as we are in the midst of a Syphilis epidemic in Miami-Dade County. Syphilis may present in many different ways, the most common forms of presentation usually are: a painless ulcer in the genital area or the mouth, disseminated rash especially intense in the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet or swollen glands.
